I was in this exact boat a decade ago.
My life as a journalist looked glamorous, but the truth is I dealt with trauma and death all day while working nights and weekends, and I was determined to find a different way.
I had followed logic my whole life, so I shifted to following my intuition. It led to me quitting my job as a reporter to teach yoga, write 3 books, start my own business helping other women live a purposeful life and launch a podcast on self-worth.

At the end of the year, I like to ask myself a sim

At the end of the year, I like to ask myself a simple question — what brought me joy?

When I asked myself this recently, I looked at my goals and made this list.
👉🏽I made a decision to be the CEO and visionary consistently for my business, and watched my team and business thrive.
👉🏽I visited Taiwan with my husband, parents and my sister’s family.
👉🏽I read 69 books(!)
👉🏽 I went deep into content creation this year and had so much fun.
👉🏽I had quarterly relationship contract meetings with my husband and our marriage is happy, connected, and so good.
👉🏽 I felt a deeper level of purpose and passion emerge working with Asian-American women and uncovered how much more I still had to learn about myself.
👉🏽 I led new content at a remarkable retreat with my mastermind and stepped into a new level of power and leadership.
👉🏽 I bought a new car that is both practical and luxurious, and perfect for me.
👉🏽 I had quarterly spa dates with my girlfriends.
👉🏽 I did Olympic lifting and yoga consistently and feel stronger than ever.

I’ve found that asking this question helps me see clearly where to focus my energy for the next year, and it is a powerful reframe for my year.

It’s one of the most effective ways to make fast, powerful decisions for the next year — I make sure that joy is leading my decision-making.
